Grafis Nusantara Vol. 03 – Label Kretek is an expansive collection of labels from kretek, a type of Indonesian clove cigarette, primarily produced in Java. In this book, the labels are divided into several categories, each providing an in-depth look at the rich history and culture surrounding kretek. This book goes beyond just presenting the labels, as it also includes detailed context and explanations about each category. In addition to the book, each copy includes a booklet, lenticular graphics postcards, and kretek papers neatly packaged in a pouch. This ensemble serves not just as an informative read, but also as a collector's item for those interested in kretek and Indonesian culture.
Grafis Nusantara collaborated with Jakarta-based design studio, Satu Collective, bringing a fresh perspective to the project without overshadowing its essence. The collaboration enhances the creative potential of 'Label Kretek Vol. 3,' adding depth to the exploration of Indonesian design heritage.

Book Showcase & Exhibition
Grafis Nusantara Vol. 03 – Label Kretek book showcase and exhibition was held at Grammars, Bandung, Indonesia, from March 1st to March 30th, 2024. The event features insightful book talks by Grafis Nusantara and SatuCollective, exploring the creative process and highlights from Volume 3. Attendees can also immerse themselves in the interactive exhibition, [D/R]ekonstruksi, previously showcased at ICAD 2022, where they can delve into Grafis Nusantara’s collection and design their own Kretek labels using provided stamps. Additionally, guests have the chance to participate in a mini-giveaway hosted by Grammars, with the opportunity to win a Kamengski T-shirt by sharing their created Kretek labels on Instagram and tagging @grafisnusantara and @gggrammars.
